Using Off the Clock
What Off the Clock can do with your account
When you sign in, your account shows a list of permissions. This page explains each one in plain language.
The short version
Off the Clock can write posts, events, polls, bookmarks, and similar records into the community's spaces in your account, keep your drafts in a private space only you can read, upload pictures, audio, and video, and ask the community's own services for feeds and notifications. It cannot post to your public Bluesky profile, read your other data, or see your password.
Scope by scope
One row per scope, from crates/otc-web/src/state/session/scope.rs (member_tokens). Confirm the wording against what Bluesky's consent screen shows.
| Scope | What it allows | Why |
|---|---|---|
atproto | Identifies you | Required for every sign-in |
blob:image/*, blob:audio/*, blob:video/* | Uploading pictures, audio, and video | Attachments, avatars, voice notes |
space:us.off-the-clock.community?authority=… | Reading your own and writing posts, likes, reposts, events, RSVPs, polls, votes, bookmarks, your profile, and acceptances in the community's spaces | Everything you do in a space |
space:us.off-the-clock.drafts | Your private drafts space, and creating it | Saved drafts that only you can read |
rpc:…?aud=did:web:api.off-the-clock.us#… | Asking the AppView for feeds, records, members, search, notifications, and push settings | Reading the community |
rpc:us.off-the-clock.feed.getFeedSkeleton?aud=… | Asking the feed generator for a feed | Feeds |
Extra permissions for admins
The step-up adds: writing the management spaces' collections (grants, feeds, labels, space records, pins), creating spaces, and the us.off-the-clock.admin.* methods. Only admins are asked.
Revoking access
Where to revoke the app in Bluesky's settings and on other PDSes; what happens to your posts (they stay in your account).
