Optional features
Every optional feature is off until configured, and each one sends something somewhere. This page says what.
Place search
OTC_GEOCODER (public Nominatim or your own). Sends addresses members search; Nominatim's policy: one request a second, a contact, no autocomplete, caching.
Static maps
OTC_MAP_TILES and OTC_MAP_ATTRIBUTION. The AppView fetches and caches tiles for 30 days and draws pins.
Meaning search
OTC_EMBEDDINGS_*. OpenAI-compatible endpoints (Ollama keeps text local) or Cohere's native API (OTC_EMBEDDINGS_API=cohere, embed-v4.0). Every post, event, and bookmark's text is sent to be embedded.
Web Push
OTC_PUSH_VAPID_KEY, OTC_PUSH_SUBJECT, OTC_PUSH_WEB_ORIGIN. Declarative Web Push, encrypted end to end; push services see timing and size. Rotating the key ends every subscription.
Rich embeds
OTC_EMBED_PLAYERS (ten providers, none for none) and OTC_EMBED_NO_THUMB_HOSTS. Players load only after consent; frame-src names exactly the enabled providers.
