Overview

What is Off the Clock?

Off the Clock is a members-only community on the Atmosphere. Everyone in it was invited by someone, every group gets a space of its own, and what you post stays in your own account.

What it is

Draft outline

One or two paragraphs in plain language.

  • A community site for people who already know each other, or know someone who does.
  • Built on the Atmosphere (AT Protocol): you sign in with your Atmosphere identity, like a Bluesky handle or your own domain.
  • Inside it are spaces: one for everyone (general), and others for a household, a club, a neighborhood, or a game night.
  • Posts, events, polls, and bookmarks live in your own account, in permissioned spaces only members can read.

Who it's for

Draft outline

Name the people, not features.

  • Groups that outgrew a group chat but don't want a public timeline.
  • Households, clubs, neighbors, friends of friends, a small team off the clock.
  • People already on Bluesky or elsewhere in the Atmosphere who want somewhere smaller.
  • Who it is not for: open public communities, anonymous accounts, brands.

Why use it

Draft outline

Three or four reasons, each a short paragraph.

  • Vouched for. Nobody wanders in: every member was added by an admin, and joining is a deliberate step.
  • Made for the group. Each space has its own members, feeds, policy, and admins.
  • Yours to keep. Your posts are records in your own repository, not the site's database. If the site goes away, your data doesn't.
  • Private by default. A space's posts are readable by its members only; nothing is on a public timeline unless you share it there yourself.

How it compares

Draft outline

Optional. A small table against a group chat, a Discord server, a Facebook group, and a public Bluesky account: who can join, who can read, where data lives, what leaving costs.
