Running the community
Roles
Every permission in Off the Clock comes from records admins write. This page lists who can do what.
The community identity
@off-the-clock.us owns every space. It is always an admin, creates the management space, can create a space's missing halves, and connects the community session. Few people should hold its password.
Community admins
Made on Community admins. They can do everything in every space: create spaces, grant any space, appoint space admins, label, set default feeds.
Space admins
Appointed per space. They manage that space's members, feeds, policy, and directory profile. They can't see records, blobs, or labels, and can't touch other spaces.
Members and invited people
Members read and post in their spaces. Invited people have a grant but haven't joined; they can't read anything yet.
What each role can do
A table: rows = tasks (create space, grant members, appoint space admins, build feeds, set default feed, set policy, edit directory profile, label, browse records/blobs), columns = community identity, community admin, space admin.
Grants that don't count
A grant counts only while its author is an admin. Demoting an admin makes their grants stop counting; the admin pages mark them "does not count".
