Running the community
The community session
Some records must be written by the community itself. The community session lets admins do that without sharing its password.
What it's for
Draft outline
Space policies, directory profiles, and creating spaces for admins other than the community identity. Each write is logged with the admin who asked.
Connecting it
Draft outline
Sign in as the community identity, open any space's Policy page, Connect the community session. It refreshes itself.

When it lapses
Draft outline
A refused refresh marks it lapsed; forms are disabled and say whom to ask. Reconnect it.
After an upgrade widens it
Warning
When a release adds permissions to the community session (October 2026 added creating spaces), disconnect and connect it again. A session keeps the scope it was connected with.
